Position Summary

The Legal Operations Manager works in the Legal team within the Operations Department and provides essential support to Textile Exchange Legal Counsel. This person is detail-oriented and possesses the ability to see connections across multiple areas of work and optimize processes, budgets, technology, and data. This position reports to Legal Counsel.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Legal compliance and tracking, managing state and charitable registrations and helping identify and remediate organizational compliance risks.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and greater efficiency, and design policies and, workflows, conducting legal department audits, and managing change to improve productivity.
  • Ensure the Legal team leverages technology and innovation to improve services and reduce costs.
  • Promote continuous improvement and ensure staff are adequately trained.
  • Identify and report on metrics supporting compliance, risk management, and departmental objectives.
  • Develop an effective know-how system to capture and propagate knowledge, reducing risk and increasing efficiency.
  • Document preparation, review, tracking deadlines, managing e-signing and any verification requirements, and maintaining digital records.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support CLM data governance to ensure data consistency, compliance, and accuracy across systems.
  • Monitor and maintain data integrity; identify and resolve data quality issues in collaboration with the Contracts Manager and Trademark and Illectual Property Senior Manager.
  • Maintain contract and other legal templates, including formatting, proofreading, storing, tracking template versions and uses.
  • Support legal policy, procedure, training, and guidance development and delivery.
  • Track contracts through the contract lifecycle, running reports and following up with other teams as necessary.
  • Conduct legal research and assist with managing legal matters, as requested.
  • Maintain legal files and communications on Textile Exchange Legal intranet site.
  • Submit invoices and assist with tracking legal expenses.
  • Maintain relationships with external organizations supporting Textile Exchange state registrations and filings, handling form and application completion, portal access, and follow-up correspondence to ensure compliance.
  • Serve as the point of contact for documentation requests and complete registration applications, and other forms as requested by Legal Counsel. Manage the legal team inbox, responding to requests, questions, and redirecting matters to Legal Counsel and other appropriate person(s).

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare final agreements for signature and send for signature through e-signature platform in accordance with internal policies and procedures.
  • Create agreement records and file contracts and other legal and compliance documents in Textile Exchange systems, such as CRM platform (e.g., Salesforce) and cloud storage (e.g., SharePoint).
  • Conduct legal research and assist with managing legal matters, as requested.
  • Other duties as needs arise.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience
  • Bachelor’s degree combined with experience in legal operations, legal technology, and project management. Advanced degrees in law or MBA an added bonus.
  • Experience with data governance and data management.
  • Significant experience with contract management and working with Contract Lifecyle Management (CLM) software.
  • Experience with signing software, e.g., Adobe Sign, DocuSign.
  • Proven success in project coordination.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote setting while maintaining effective and respectful collaboration with Textile Exchange global teams and external stakeholders.
  • A strong attention to detail and solid organization skills
  • Must be willing and able to work remotely/from home and must be flexible to communicate with multiple time zones outside of standard working hours.
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working with people from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and perspectives and excitement about contributing to a positive work culture.
  • Curious, creative, and motivated with a passion for sustainability.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools.
  • Must be flexible to communicate with multiple time zones outside of standard working hours.

Position Summary

The Standards Engagement, Certified Supply Chain Specialist will provide technical engagement support as part of the continuous improvement of Textile Exchange’s chain of custody standard (Content Claim Standard), supporting policies, and certified supply chain tools such as Trackit. This role focuses on supporting certified organizations and supply chain actors through standards knowledge, consultation coordination, and structured feedback collection. 

​The Specialist will serve as a bridge between the Standards & Assurance department, the Engagement & Partnerships department, and certified organizations to help ensure standards requirements, system expectations, and digital tools developments are communicated clearly and consistently. 

​This role is essential to translating evolving chain of custody requirements and Trackit updates into accessible engagement content that supports informed stakeholder participation across the certified supply chain. 

Key Responsibilities 

Support stakeholder engagement and implementation readiness related to Textile Exchange’s certified supply chain system elements, including the Content Claim Standard (CCS), supporting policies (SC/TC), and tools such as Trackit, by translating technical developments into accessible engagement content, coordinating consultations, and supporting structured feedback collection. 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Certified Supply Chain Content & Policy Knowledge 

  • Serve as a key engagement resource for certified supply chain system elements, including the Content Claim Standard (CCS), Policy for Scope and Transaction Certificates (SC/TC), and supporting tools such as Trackit.  
  • Monitor updates to standards, policies, calibration decisions, and tool developments to help ensure changes are communicated clearly in collaboration with the Standards & Assurance department.  
  • Translate technical requirements, policy changes, and tool functionality into stakeholder-friendly content that supports understanding and implementation by certified organizations.  

Stakeholder Consultation & Feedback Support 

  • Support the identification, design, and delivery of consultations related to certified supply chain standards, policies, and tools in collaboration with the Standards & Assurance department.  
  • Gather and document stakeholder feedback, implementation challenges, and operational insights to support continuous improvement of system elements and user experience.  
  • Track and synthesize stakeholder trends, surfacing recurring themes and risks to relevant internal teams to help inform policy updates and system development.  

Engagement Material Development & Awareness Raising 

  • Act as a liaison between the Standards & Assurance department and Engagement & Partnerships colleagues to help translate technical certified supply chain content into accessible and actionable stakeholder information.  
  • Support awareness-raising engagement activities related to chain of custody requirements, policy expectations, and supporting tools.  
  • Create foundational content and educational resources that can be leveraged across Engagement & Partnerships activities to support stakeholder understanding of system changes, tool updates, and implementation expectations. 

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities

Stakeholder Relationship & Case Management Support 

  • Support the Industry & Materials Engagement teams in managing relationships with certified organizations and Trackit users by providing standards and policy content support related to CCS, SC/TC requirements, and system implementation.  
  • Respond to complex stakeholder inquiries related to chain of custody requirements, certified supply chain policies, and supporting tools.  
  • Track and maintain records of stakeholder cases, feedback, and follow-up through Textile Exchange’s case management system.  

Cross-Functional Coordination 

  • Collaborate across Standards & Assurance, Engagement & Partnerships, and technical teams to support aligned stakeholder communications and engagement approaches.  
  • Support internal alignment by helping identify stakeholder education, consultation, and implementation support needs related to certified supply chain system developments. 

Minimum Qualifications

  • ​​At least three combined years of experience working in standards systems and/or quality management. 
  • ​​​​​​​​Detail-oriented, logical, systematic, methodical, and highly organized.
  • ​Experience working in database systems with both external and internal users. Experience with a high volume of inquiries is an asset. 
  • ​Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within teams and across departments. 
  • ​​Ability to work in a flexible, yet fast-paced remote environment, able to meet deadlines and share progress regularly.   
  • ​Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Salesforce, and Project Management software. 
  • ​​Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Position Summary

The Senior Manager, Standards and Policies is responsible for the strategic design and continuous improvement of the organization’s standards system and its foundational documents. This role ensures that all systems and tools are efficient, functional, and aligned with broader organizational goals. A central focus of the position is balanced, informed decision making on key standard system topics, ensuring consistency, quality, and scalability across processes. 

This role provides leadership and oversight to the Standards and Policies sub-team, responsible for the development and maintenance of the Standards System documents as well as quality control and legislative alignment. The position plays a critical role in shaping system strategy, guiding best practices, and ensuring successful execution through this team. 

Collaboration is essential to the role. The Senior Manager partners closely with the Standards Technical teams, and across other departments, most notably Operations, Integrity and Governance, to ensure that system designs, updates, and decisions reflect operational needs, regulatory expectations, and organizational priorities. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • ​​Provide leadership and oversight to the Standards and Policies sub-team, ensuring their work meets expectations for quality, accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with strategic system goals. 
  • ​Ensure decision making related to work of the Standards and Policies sub-team is informed and balanced, drawing on insights from the technical team, other departments (e.g. Engagement and Partnerships), and senior leadership when appropriate. 
  • ​Lead the design, structure, and functionality of the Standard System document suite, including all standards, policies, guidance documents, templates, specifications, and procedures. 
  • ​Oversee the effective design, performance, and continuous improvement of internal quality management systems and external compliance systems, such as risk management, case management, ISEAL compliance, and the feedback management system, ensuring these systems are efficient, integrated, and aligned with organizational requirements.

  • ​​Manage the design, structure, and ongoing improvement of the full Standard System document suite, including standards, policies, guidance, templates, specifications, and procedures. 
  • ​Lead decision-making processes for system design, feedback incorporation, and document development, ensuring decisions are informed and balanced. Oversee consistent use of the decision-making SOP, including the escalation of key decisions and sharing results across teams and departments. 
  • ​Ensure the efficient and effective performance of internal quality management systems and external compliance systems (e.g., risk management, case management, ISEAL compliance, feedback management systems). 
  • ​Work closely with members of the department leadership, technical leads (raw material production and primary processing, supply chain, claims, traceability, assurance), and other departments to ensure cohesive system planning, integration, and implementation. 
  • ​Identify opportunities to enhance system design, workflows, governance, and document quality; lead initiatives that strengthen system effectiveness, user experience, and organizational accountability. 
  • ​Clearly communicate system updates, decisions, and rationale to internal teams at all levels, supporting organizational understanding and alignment.​

We are looking for an experienced ​​Quality Specialist to come join us here at Textile Exchange. The Quality Specialist is a key support role in the development, maintenance and implementation of the Standard System Department’s internal management systems (e.g., document control, risk management, case management) and external compliance management systems (e.g., ISEAL, EA 1/22).  Collaborating with the Quality Manager, this role ensures that all systems are user-friendly, efficient, and consistently deliver high-quality outputs.​
 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Support the development and implementation of user-friendly, efficient, and effective systems and internal procedures that ensure the quality, readability, consistency, and completeness of all Standards System documents. This includes, but is not limited to, standards, policies, guidelines, templates, and internal and external procedures. 
  • Support the design and implementation of the Standards System Department’s document control, risk management, case management, and external compliance management systems, ensuring that all relevant staff are notified of required actions, responsibilities are clearly tracked, and all open items are resolved in a timely and thorough manner​.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • ​​Operationalize the Standard System’s document control system and other Standard Operating Procedures. 
  • ​Organize inputs and review processes of department definition updates to the Textile Exchange Glossary. 
  • ​Operationalize the case management system and maintain design and functionality. 
  • ​Collect inputs from department teams and update the risk management system 
  • ​Support the department technical leads for ISEAL compliance, supporting the upload of information to the org-wide tools.​ 

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities

  • ​​Support work management in ClickUp, for organizational OKRs, but also key project support. 
  • ​Support the standards development work as needed to achieve mutual team goals. 
  • ​Support project workstreams as appropriate and act as “champion” for key areas of work.​

​​The Assurance and Traceability, Senior Director will have accountability for two pillars of the Textile Exchange standards system: our assurance system and digital tools. The Senior Director will shape the future of these pillars of the standards system through their knowledge and leadership. They will lead teams responsible for certification body oversight, monitoring, data collection and management, and digital tool/platform development. This leadership role will offer an opportunity to continue improving one of the industry’s largest sustainability standards systems during a pivotal transition to a new standard: the Materials Matter Standard. The role demands a forward-thinker with the right knowledge and experience to navigate multiple outcomes amidst changes being implemented across a range of contexts.  

​Successful candidates have demonstrated leadership of large, global teams and robust knowledge of certification systems, especially those that include third-party certification, traceability, and advanced digital platforms.   • Accountable for digital tools and systems that effectively advance the standards system by supporting transparency, regulatory alignment, market confidence, and measurable impact across complex global supply chains.​ 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • ​Own the ongoing evolution of assurance and traceability within the standards system, ensuring that policies, processes, data, and governance function together in an integrated way. 
  • ​Oversee the Assurance team, responsible for certification body management, monitoring and assessment, and all other certification activities. 
  • ​Oversee the Traceability and Standards Data teams, responsible for development and management of digital tools supporting Textile Exchange standards. 
  • ​Proactively evolve the relevant models and systems to strengthen the integrity of the standards system, balancing credibility, usability, cost, and innovation amid regulatory change, technological advancement, and shifting market expectations, ensuring long-term strategic success. 
  • ​Develop strategies to strengthen proactive monitoring and response to complaints or inquiries related to certification body performance or user conformity across the system 
  • ​In partnership with the standards leadership team, define and advance Textile Exchange’s strategic approach to traceability, including interoperability, scalability, and alignment with emerging regulatory and market expectations. 
  • ​Ensure appropriate risk management within certification activities, including appropriate organizational transparency, responsiveness, and confidence. 
  • ​Guide prioritization decisions where trade-offs exist between rigor, scalability, cost, and adoption. 
  • ​Represent Textile Exchange externally as a thought leader on assurance and traceability, with certification bodies, the ISEAL community, peer standards bodies, users, and strategic partners.​ 

Minimum Qualifications

  • ​​10+ years of experience in sustainability related standards and certification schemes 
  • ​10+ years of management experience, including global and remote teams 
  • ​Experience across a range of assurance models, including navigating implementation across diverse contexts 
  • Experience of traceability and information management systems 
  • ​Experience in strategy development and ownership of system-level outcomes  
  • ​Commitment to contributing to a positive organizational culture 
  • ​Strong communication skills, including comfort navigating between technical and high-level audiences 
  • ​Experience engaging in cross-initiative alignment efforts, including across regulatory and voluntary contexts 
  • ​Experience leading complex systems through significant growth and dynamic contexts 
  • ​Experience in risk and performance management within the context of certification 
  • ​Experience with chain of custody models 
  • ​Experience with data modeling and data management systems​ 

Preferred Qualifications

  • ​​Experience with an ISEAL member initiative 
  • ​Experience within the apparel, textile, or agriculture sectors​ 

Employment Package 

  • Full-Time Position, 40 Hours a Week
  • Required travel: between 35%
  • Annual Salary Range: $160,000 – $200,000 USD
